Kelly Kasle's Musician's Bio

Outside of Astrology, Kelly Kasle is a professional bassoonist, music educator and event producer. Read about her life as a professional musician.

Kelly Kasle is a Los Angeles-based musician, concert producer, and podcast host. Her career synthesizes empowering, creating with, and connecting artists and creatives. After completing degrees in Bassoon Performance and Arts Leadership at the Eastman School of Music (BM ‘14) and Southern Methodist University (MM ‘16), she moved to Los Angeles in September of 2016.

As a bassoonist, Kelly teaches with several youth orchestras and gigs with various groups in Los Angeles. In her own performance projects she focuses on expanding the bassoon’s repertoire, chamber music, and working with living composers. She has an ongoing collaboration with electronics composer Jason Heath to explore new ways of using the bassoon. In the summertime Kelly brings together young bassoonists at Bocal Majority double reed camp and performs as an Artist in Residence at the Maryland Wind Festival and Lake Tahoe Music Festival. Past summer festivals include American Institute for Musical Studies (AIMS), European American Musical Alliance (EAMA), Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival, and Fifth House Ensemble’s Fresh Inc Festival.

After working in different administrative roles with a variety of organizations including Eastman’s Institute for Music Leadership Office, WGMC Jazz 90.1, iCadenza, Dragonfly Modeling Agency, Southern Methodist University’s Music Recruitment Office and as a personal assistant to Eric Whitacre, Kelly built her own business to help artists and organizations plan and execute dream projects and grow to the next level. Her services include branding and social media strategies, organizational development and project planning, and concert design and production. Kasle Enterprises has a roster of artists and organizations including Grammy-award winning Singer, Songwriter, and Actress Hila Plitmann, the Westside Youth Orchestra, composer Russell Steinberg, and the Santa Monica Conservatory of Music. She is active in LA’s new music scene and has worked as a freelance production assistant with HEAR NOW Music Festival, The Salastina Music Society, Tuesdays at Monk Space, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra in collaboration with Jason Heath and Four Larks, Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra, and Eighth Blackbird’s Blackbird Creative Lab. In addition, she regularly works with Produced by BEAR to produce innovative concerts and events.

Since graduating from Eastman, Kelly has enjoyed being an active member of the local Sigma Alpha Iota alumni chapter in her community. She is also an active member of the Los Angeles chapter of University of Rochester’s Alumni National Leadership Council and helps organize and produce Alumni events around Los Angeles.
