How to Use Astrology, Human Design and Gene Keys in Life & Business Coaching

People hire coaches because they are ready to change and want results. In my ten years as a teacher and consultant, I’ve learned that a one size program does not fit all because each human is incredibly unique. In both teaching and consulting, I get the best results when I build a unique approach for each individual.

Now that we are officially moving into the Age of Aquarius, big systems and cut and paste programs will no longer work long term. The focus is shifting from building big businesses to building healthy community ecosystems where every person can be their unique self and will flourish when given the chance to step into the role they were designed to play to contribute to the collective - just like instruments in an orchestra.

In this Age, knowing how to work with energetics will be vital. The lines between what is “real” and “not real” are blurring very quickly with the implementation of new technology like AI and VR. You will not be able to fully rely on external data and instruments to make decisions because it will be impossible to tell what is real and the TRUE intentions behind the external data. You will have to know how to make decisions from your gut instincts and TRUST that your instincts will help you make constructive decisions.

Astrology and Human Design show the energetics of an individual and collective life in a very logical and easy to understand format. Bringing these systems into the workplace and popular culture now will help people become more comfortable working with unseen and esoteric forces and principles. Not to mention how accurate and effective they are at helping people solve problems!

Additionally, we now have a better understanding about how all areas of life are interwoven such as the relationships between Mental, Emotional and Physical Health. A problem in Area A might actually be caused by a problem in Area B. Fix Area B and Area A will resolve itself.

Astrology, Human Design and Gene Keys show a holistic view of an individual's personality and life and what role in society that person is designed to play. 

Further, from studying my own chart and life and those of my clients, I believe a Natal Birth Chart shows a person’s true core desires and motivations before any societal or parental programming.

With just a little bit of digging into a client’s charts and by asking them a few questions, you will clearly see…

• If you’re working with a cheetah, an elephant, a lizard, a sloth or a bird or in human terms a King, a Protector, a Mom, a Worker Bee, a Salesperson, an Empath, an Artist, an Inventor, etc. 
• If that person is living congruently with their design or trying to work against it, causing dis-ease in their life. 

Doing a reading before you start working with the client can tell you a lot about them that might take you weeks or months to learn if you had only communicated with them in sessions and an onboarding survey.

Here is a list of what I believe every coach should look at before your first session with a client.

The Big Items for Every Coach 

That can be found by digging into a client’s charts!

• Understanding Your Client’s Communication Style 
• Understanding How Your Client Thinks - are they a Creative, Right Brain or Logical, Left Brain thinker? Is their brain overly active with 1,000 ideas? Will they approach things with practicality, abstract thinking or by feeling into it?
• Seeing if the client naturally has more masculine or feminine personality traits
• Where do they sit on the scale of empathetic to logical?
• How willing a client will be to openly share their issues. Will it take time to develop their trust?
• Motivation - What motivates them? Really!!
• How the client energetically manifests
• The areas of life that will be most important to them. Family, travel, friends, spiritual growth, home life, being creative, etc.
• A Person’s Role in Society - The King, Hunter, Mother, Gatherer, Behind the Scenes, Analyst, Sales Person, Peace Maker, Leader, Follower, etc.
• The Main Themes and Essence of Their Life’s Work and Purpose
• Triggers and Pain Points
• Is a person prone to mental health issues? (suicide, depression, addictions, imprisonment)
• Where does immaturity show up in their personality?
• What parts of their personality compete, possibly causing dis-ease and therefore need to be integrated in a healthy way?
• Where are they set in their ways and where are they easily influenced?

I always look at Astrology, Name Numerology, and basic Human Design traits first. Then I dive deeper into Human Design and Gene Keys.

The following is a list of additional important markers I always look at in my Astrology Sessions.

• Major Life Themes
• Soul’s Urge - what the Soul wants
• The Most Challenging Aspects of a Client’s Chart
• North Node - the major lesson a client has to learn in this lifetime. What is easy for them (South Node) and where there is room to grow (North Node). It also shows the environment in which you thrive.
• Uranus - where in life you are a rebel
• Age Markers - very important!
• What transits are they going through now? Are they affecting them positively or negatively?
• Pluto Transit - what area of life is being majorly transformed now and throughout their life
• Chiron - have they learned to heal the wound?
• A Client’s Spiritual and Intuitive Gifts - you can help them tap into and trust their
  intuition when making decisions. Especially when making new decisions!
• How important is it for a person to have a strong spiritual practice

*I look at key basics in a person’s charts first to give me an overview of who I’m working with. Then in a second session I look at Human Design. One thing I don’t see enough of with Human Design readings that I believe is crucial to helping clients is understanding cycles, which Astrology shows us. So, if your client would like to go deeper into their Human Design and have a full understanding of all the gates and how they connect to their life overview, we can do that in a follow up session.

The beautiful part about using these systems is that you can go into a person’s charts and see everything that is connected to your specialty.

If you’re a...

Money, Negotiation or Sales Coach, you’d want to know your client’s Money Story, Career Story, their role in society, how they manifest, their strongest personality traits and the challenging aspects of their personality that might get in the way of fulfilling their potential.

Health Coach, you’d want to know what areas of life are connected to their health house, if they are in a big health transit, any major health markers that stand out in an Astrology or Human Design chart, how the person relates to rhythms in life and if the person is built for Tantra or Yoga activities (Yin vs. Yang - Surrender vs. Doing).

Life and Mindset Coach, then you’re looking at the overview of the person. Depending on your style and specialities, you can decide what you’d like to know about your clients.

Coach to Coaches, then you need to find the person's strengths, their role in society, how they energetically work with the universe, their major area of life to capitalize on, and any weak personality traits to work on.

• A 30-minute Zoom session where I give you an overview of the client and you can ask questions.
• You’ll receive the video and audio of our session, the client’s charts, and a completed Coaches Form to share with your client (see below). 

Full Reading - For Client + Communication w/Coach

• ~1.5hr Zoom Session with Kelly + Client. The Coach is welcome to sit in if they like.
• Pre- or Post- Communication between Kelly + Coach to give the coach an overview of the client’s info. This includes a completed Coaches Form.
• This could be a 30-minute call or a pre-recorded short video covering the basics that the coach should know.
